This commences at 9am and finishes at 5pm. The shuttle bus is a continuous service running all day, in and out of the Showgrounds’ Drop Off area.
The SuperShow system, developed by Dotser Web & Marketing, allowed the competitor to enter the class of their choice online. This system guided the entrant through the registration process with drop-down selection boxes to ensure a simple and clear online registration process, giving the show live and up-to-date information on entries. Previously, this process was completed by hard copy only, with payments taken by cheque or cash, meaning the office staff were extraordinarily busy updating their records, both banking and entry form records. Now their time is freed up to allow for investing in developing other areas of the show, to continue to make this the best show in the country. The committee are delighted with the system, as Freda Kinnarney, Operations Manager proudly reports that ‘being able to view this data on a daily basis and easily allow the competitors to enter their exhibits to the show is something we could not do without now. So much work goes into preparing for the day, that we are glad for all the extra time we are now allowed that is saved by using the Dotser SuperShow system.’ Freda also would like to ‘thank all the exhibitors to date, and would remind people that there are still some entries being taken on the day’.
Some might be interested in the new judging system for the Angus section. This year, the Tullamore Show & AIB National Livestock Show is introducing a change in the judging system for some classes in the Show. They are trying out a new system for the Angus breed, and particularly the Angus Beef Ireland National Angus Calf Championships, which is made up of 6 classes, with €1,000 cash prize fund per class. The new procedure being followed by judges see 3 Judges operating independently, with a scrutineer who will tally the judging decisions of the 3 judges, to reach the winners of their respective classes. They have a Canadian judge as one of the 3 Angus judges.
Site layout and developments are very much in progress now, with the many people involved in making this event happening, working tirelessly to ensure the Tullamore Show & AIB National Livestock Show thrills, excites and continues to earn the respect of the country, as the country’s largest one-day show. We are delighted to have such great support from all of the local community and businesses, and national alike, to ensure this event is a success for the county, and the country.
